Good evening.
My name is Isaac, and I would like to share a little bit about my experience at St. Mary School. I have been a student here for three years now. When I was younger, I went to many public schools and every time I went to a new public school, I was excited. But when my parents told me I was going to a different kind of school, a Catholic school, I tried to run away. The next morning my siblings and I went to school and my teacher introduced me to my class. I thought to myself, “It’s a small class with only nine kids.” I was so used to big classes in public schools. When my classmates welcomed me into the school, it was the happiest day of my life.
One reason why I love this school is the people: my friends, teachers, and principal. My teachers never give up on me and always help me with my schoolwork. My principal, Mrs. Fuller, always takes care of us. And my friends are there when I need them and always support me.
Another reason I love this school is the academics. When I was in public school, my friends and I always goofed around or never paid attention. So I got bad grades. But here at St. Mary, academics are a high priority. Ever since I left public school, my grades are a lot better. When I got to St. Mary I started to see the kids paying attention to their schoolwork, so I did too. Next thing you know, I started getting better grades. Not only that but if I needed help with homework, I could always ask my friends or teachers for help.
My last reason is faith. My family has always been Catholic. We always went to mass and my parents went to church meetings, but I never really paid attention. Everywhere I went to eat, I was too embarrassed to bless my food. Every day at St. Mary we bless our food before snack and lunch. Every other day we go to mass in the morning. And every day my faith grows much more. I am not afraid to bless my food in public nor in front of my old friends. St. Mary School is family, friendship, love, and faith, which is why I love this school.
I hope that you encourage your children to come to St. Mary because it will change your life. It changed mine and now that I’m going to high school I wish I could be a student in St. Mary School forever. I want to thank my parents for encouraging me to come to St. Mary. Now that I have been here for three years, I never want to leave.
On behalf of all the students of St. Mary, and myself, I want to say thank you. Thank you to everyone who supports St. Mary School. We appreciate your financial donations and your prayers. I am so grateful to be a part of this community.
Thank you.
Good Morning.
My name is Morgan. I have attended St. Mary School for nine years, since I was four years old, and currently I am an eighth grader here. I would like to share a little of my St. Mary experience with you. St. Mary has three main aspects to it: faith, learning, and friends.
First is faith. Here at St. Mary we go in depth with our faith, from learning how Christianity came to be, or meditating on the Holy Scripture in Lectio Divina. We learn so much information about this amazing mystery that happens every time we come to mass. We also learn how to altar serve and prepare the church for mass or benediction. One of my favorite activities is prayer buddies. Each older class is paired with a younger class. Together we do activities and get to know one another throughout the year. The 8th graders are buddies with the 2nd grade and even though we can’t get together this year as we normally do, we have been writing letters to each other. My classmates and I even created a song to welcome our buddies back to school and used zoom to show it to them.
Next is learning. Our curriculum at St. Mary really puts us ahead, in preparing for high school. At St. Mary we have small class sizes. Not only do we form close relationships with our friends, but also learning becomes more personal. We get to have special bonds with our teacher throughout our years. Currently my classmates and I have been prepping for high school, looking at the classes our teachers recommend for us. It really shows how we at St. Mary are prepared for honors classes in high school.
And finally, friends. One of the best parts about St. Mary is that you have friends that went to pre-k through elementary and then middle school years with you. And by the time eighth grade comes, you know each other like a sibling. So overall St. Mary has been a huge blessing for me and has taught me so much about my faith. But if I can ask you to remember one thing, remember this: Here at St. Mary we are not just an ordinary school body, we are a family.
On behalf of all the students at St. Mary, I want to thank you for supporting our school. Through your generous donations and continuous prayers, we appreciate everyone who helps us achieve our goals. Thank you!
Good Morning.
My name is Isaac and I am an eighth grade student at St. Mary’s School. I have gone to school here for about 10 years, and it has been a wonderful journey. Ever since preschool, I have had amazing friends here to support me through the bad days and the good. We have all been through so much together and being in a smaller Catholic school makes us even closer.
The schooling here is so high quality. All three of my siblings attended this school and they were very prepared for high school. The teachers work alongside of us and push us to become better students and people. School hasn’t always been easy, but the teachers know that we can do it and encourage us through every paper and project. I am also very thankful for Mrs. Fuller, who is always working to make St. Mary’s a safe environment for the kids who attend school. I am honored to have been taught by such good teachers. I am very glad I came here and met such wonderful people. At St. Mary’s we are not just friends, we are family!
The biggest impact St. Mary has had on me is my faith life. Because we go to mass every day, it really strengthens my relationship with God. It gives me time to pray and also receive Holy Communion. Religion class also affects my relationship with God because it teaches me about Church History as well as the lives of Saints. Father Michael leads our middle school religion classes once a week. During this time we pray the Lectio Divina and reflect on the Gospels.
Thank you to all the parishioners who support our school. On behalf of all my classmates and students at St. Mary, we appreciate your finanacial donations and prayers.
